OUR STORY IS PART MAN, PART LEGEND, ALL COLONEL.It all began in a Kentucky gas station way back in 1930 when Harland Sanders first started cooking for hungry travelers. Six years later, he became a Colonel and, by 1940, he had perfected his now famous 11-herbs-and-spices recipe. He spent the rest of his long and storied life taking his chicken to the world, bringing it to Canada more than 70 years ago. The Colonel loved Canada so much that in 1965 he moved here to support his Canadian franchisees, and lived in his Mississauga home for the rest of his life. Here in Canada, we’ve been writing our own unique chapter in the KFC story.
WE ARE PROUD THAT THE OF THE FOOD WE SERVE IS SOURCED FROM CANADIAN FARMERS AND SUPPLIERS, AND THAT OUR CHICKEN IS 100% CANADIAN FARM-RAISED AND OUR FRIES ARE MADE FROM 100% CANADIAN POTATOES.Our 650+ KFC restaurants located across Canada are 100% owned and operated by Canadian franchisees and 12,000 people are employed at KFC restaurants across the country. These franchisees support the communities in which we operate. One of our most important community efforts is our Food Donation program, to help to feed Canadians impacted with food insecurity.
Whether it’s our community involvement or introducing menu items – like poutine – that reflect our diverse Canadian market, we know that whether we wear “KFC” or “PFK” on our uniforms, we all embody the Colonel’s integrity and spirit of hard work.
